Monochrome Funk: Photo Diary

Heya!!
So since the inception of this category; Monochrome Funk, I have with the help of Photography learning websites worked on my Photography skills.

It has been about four months since I last shared my photos ( well I have posted some on my previous posts). I still use my Sony Cybershot camera as I stated in my previous post

https://thestrokesituation.wordpress.com/2016/01/22/monochrome-funk-pt-1-the-beginning/

It’s no DSLR and sure it doesn’t have the amount of focus I desire but it is what I have and I’m taking what I believe are amazing  photos with it.

I love this photo! I remember this day, I wanted to shoot an animal in motion in my rooftop when this bad boy flew past me.
It’s one of my favorite shots because it’s a minimal shot and needed little editing.

Sometimes I may be walking around or in the house when an idea pops up, so I pick my camera and explore.

For editing, I use the VSCO and Toolwiz apps respectively. I mostly love  VSCO because of the filter plus the edit tools are easy to operate. In addition VSCO allows you to share your work on their platform.

For the picture above, I used the Toolwiz app , I blended two pictures to receive this result and I love it! Don’t you agree? This app has tones of tools for editing, some might be a little confusing but once you get the hang of it; it is a piece of cake.

I share my pictures on Instagram and so far,  the reviews I have received have been incredible. There I get to engage in conversation with remarkable upcoming photographers, I also get to see photographs that inspire me to keep on. If you are an amateur photographer like me and even professional and need a photo sharing platform, I would definitely recommend Instagram. Last week I did an Instagram-themed post which was a bit difficult because I had to find similar things of the same color and highlight. It’s too high maintenance but the results are beautiful.

I want to soon start a few projects to further improve my skills, one being ‘Project 30’. A project dedicated to taking photos for a full month and also sharing them.

I believe my Photography journey is steady and growing strong. I hope to improve and soon begin to shoot with a DSLR camera.
